About Our Consignment
When do you accept consignment(s)?
The Velvet Shoestring accepts Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please call (610)995-0300 to make a consignment appointment.
How does it work? We will price merchandise at fair market value and then reduce merchandise by 15% every 30 days during a 90 day consignment period. Should your merchandise not sell, you have the option to pick it up within 5 days of the expiration date or it will be donated. We do not provide notification of expiration so please mark your calendars.
How do consignors get paid? At The Velvet Shoestring, our consignors receive 50% of the final selling price. Payments to the consignor are made on the 5th of every month following the sale of item(s). Please pick up your check after the 5th. Checks are void after 120 days.
What do you accept? The Velvet Shoestring accepts only the highest quality previously owned furniture and accessories. Furniture must be stylish, clean and in good condition. Lamps must be in working condition with shades. Rugs and upholstery must be clean. Brass and silver must be polished. Glass must be cleaned. The Velvet Shoestring cannot be held liable for any property brought to the shop for consignment.
When will my items be on the floor and how do I get it there? Due to extremely high volume, items may not be immediately placed on the floor for sale. No way of transporting your Items? Once they’ve been approved for consignment, we can set up a convenient time for our drivers to do the heavy lifting. For a nominal fee, your items will arrive to the shop safely.
Will you design for us? Our experienced design team can show you how easy it can be to make every detail perfect. Request a consultation and you’ll be on your way to having a beautiful living space or one that is ready for market.
